Creating a Branch
To create a branch:
- Open the ClearCase Type Explorer
- Select the vob you want to connect to
- select BranchTypes
- Create a new type
Now create a View that uses this branch. Change the config spec to point to the new branch.
ConfigSpec has an example (it uses "new_branch").
Testing Branch's configspec
To test the branch, create a Dynamic View using the configspec. Then create an element in the new branch. Check the version history to ensure that it is indeed created in the right place. Then delete it.
